Interesting post, lots to digest. Loved seeing the calligraphy again and what you're perfecting with practice. As for the bible, I started reading King James and couldn't help thinking god (we) is a space alien. A greater power for certain, but out there. I got as far as all the laws ... Deuteronomy? Reading your comments here has inspired me to take the book off the shelf again and skip ahead to where it starts being interesting again.As a storyteller, I enjoy the stories. My church education picked and chose verses to read and memorize, so I thought it would be more interesting to read the book like it was a novel. I'm waiting for it to be the "good book" that Christians go on about, but then, I'm still in the Old Testament. Need to go read about Jesus again.
I know what you mean. I recently heard that it’s best to think of the Bible as a library. I love that analogy. Interesting as times and needs change, different parts of the library gets emphasized. For example liberation theology emphasizes the minor prophets, which I need to read again in that light
