Next time you go to Portland, checkout Powell's Bookstore downtown. Huge place, a rabbit warren of books on everything. Your visit to Multnumah Falls reminded me of our visit there and how difficult it is to get a photo of the entire falls in one shot. Beautiful and stunning. And the Fruit Loop was fun, although like you, we didn't have time for the whole adventure. That's a special day trip, I think. We were also on our way back home to Truckee by car. Whew!
Yes! We would have liked to hit up Powell’s but just ran out of time! We did drive past it on the way to the airport from the Japanese Garden...a blink of an eye which is doubtless a lot more impressive when experienced in the flesh.
Portland does have a lot to offer the visitor. Back in the 70s when I went there alone. I met three law students who had just taken them bar exams and wanted to celebrate in a fern bar where I landed during my stay. They took me to a cafe named Rosie's who featured these huge cinnamon buns. I tried to find that place, but nothing in 2010 (?) was the same as it was in 1974.
