I can relate to this. Also a middle man. I find the hardest thing is making sure people know your value. Integral to lots of departments but many teams output gets passed along for others to measure and report on!
I even find it hard to know my own value. People seem to enjoy work with me...but then again my architects and contractors have to be nice to me, cause I might be the source of their next job. And it feels a little like stolen glory to bask in their success when a project goes well.
