As for running and jump, don't! Makes my knees hurt just thinking about it. Find a safe place and walk every day. Or incorporate more walking during work: staircases, hallways, any time you need to go from point A to point B walk every step of it. Elevators and escalators are taboo. (that's my Mom advice for the day. take it with whatever boulder of salt you wish and good luck to you)
Yes, brisk walking rather than strolling. And it doesn't have to look like marching or one needn't care weights to chug along effectively. Just walk like you need to get somewhere in a decent amount of time. People seem to overthink this. Also, playing with your kids can burn a lot of calories and fat too.

hmm good point! I just looked up cardio walking...100 steps a minute...but at least not the hard impact of jogging.
